Rangemaster’s Chief Instructor, Tom Givens, is a noted authority on the subject of self-defense. Tom has over twenty-five years of experience in law enforcement and specialized security services including the use of firearms to defend himself and others. He has over twenty years of firearms instruction experience and has trained thousands of law enforcement officers, military personnel, and private citizens. Tom is also an accomplished competitive shooter having won numerous matches and titles as well as having served on the IDPA Board of Directors.
Tom has operated a self-defense school in one of the most violent metropolitan areas in the United States for over ten years. To date, over fifty private citizen students of Rangemaster have been involved in shootings and everyone of them has won. No other shooting school has such a solid record of preparing private citizens for the realities of the streets.
Tom is also an accomplished author, having published almost 100 magazine articles, and five textbooks. He has also been a lecturer at numerous national conferences including the National Tactical Invitational. Tom has taken all of his real-world experience, teaching ability and put them in book and most recently, video format.
