This class is conducted in one day. You must attend the entire 8 hour session.

There will be breaks and a break for lunch.

We provide the 9mm gun rental, ammunition, ear protection, eye protection, workbook and targets at no extra charge.

Combative Pistol 1

This is an intensive weekend course that covers all of the essential skills involved in fighting with a handgun. There is an all day session Saturday and Sunday, 9:00am to 6:00pm.

Topics covered in this course will include:

• Rapid presentation from concealed carry
• Effective gun handling techniques, designed to work under stress
• Rapid reloading techniques
• High speed accuracy at close ranges
• Precision shooting at mid-ranges
• Effective shooting with one hand, with either hand
• Proper defensive mindset and more.

Expect to fire about 1,000 rounds of ammunition. This course is designed expressly for the armed citizen who carries a concealed handgun, or the plain clothes or off duty police officer.

You will need a good handgun, holster, belt, and magazine pouch, at least three magazines, a ball cap and concealment garment (vest, jacket, windbreaker, etc), eye and ear protection, and rain gear (we train rain or shine). A cooler with soft drinks and snacks is a very good idea.

You will need a quality handgun and gear. It is a good idea to bring a second gun just like your primary, in case something breaks on your primary gun. Please bring good quality ammunition. You will shoot better, your gun will function better, and you will learn faster.

Tuition is $425.00 and preregistration is required.

Your primary instructor will be Tom Givens, of Rangemaster, assisted Lynn Givens, a Rangemaster certified firearms instructor.

Massad Ayoob, MAG 20, Formerly LFI1, Armed Citizens’ Rules of Engagement

Massad Ayoob is one of the best known writers and lecturers on self-defense subjects in the United States, as well as one of the country’s most respected expert witnesses.  For 28 years he has offered this immersion level, 20 hour course in managing lethal threats and the legal ramifications of the use of force.  This two-day, ten hour per day course is in-depth classroom training.

Classroom training will include an emphasis on legal issues, tactical issues, and aftermath management. Topics will include interacting with suspects, witnesses, and responding officers…threat recognition and mindset… management of social and psychological aftermath after having had to use lethal force in defense of self or others…and preparing beforehand for legal repercussions and minimizing exposure to them. Situations in the home, at the place of business, or “on the street” will all be covered. Two full days are devoted to these critical issues.

Advanced Pistol Skills (Combined with Mass Ayoob’s Class)

This is an exciting and demanding, fast paced day of skill building on our modern, air conditioned indoor range.

Students will fire between 400 and 500 rounds in drills designed to challenge you while building essential skills. You will learn to operate your handgun at full speed, while enhancing your accuracy for smaller or more difficult targets. This is NOT a beginner’s course. Cost is only $200.
